The “Einstein” of poker delves into the ever more popular poker arena – tournament play. “Tournament Poker for Advanced Players” is the first text written about tournament poker. Sklansky recognizes that tournament poker requires additional skills to standard poker play.

This book assumes that the reader already has a good understanding of poker, but is new to tournament play. Sklansky says that good tournament poker players have a solid understanding of the proper strategy adjustments and when those strategies come into play. You may notice that the same poker players are making it to the final table of tournaments over and over – this is no coincidence, those players thoroughly understand the intricacies of tournament poker play.

Some concepts included in the book are the affect of going broke, the Gap Concept, how chips change value, adjusting strategy because the stakes rise, all-in strategy, the last table, making deals and the “System.” Many avid tournament players agree that Sklansky’s book includes easy-to-follow concepts and it explains the changing value of chips during a tournament.
