Lou Krieger learned poker at the age of seven by watching his father play at a weekly Thursday-night game. Krieger continued to perfect his poker playing through high school and college. Krieger truly fell in love with the game during his first trip to Las Vegas.

He began writing articles on poker strategy then moved into writing books. “Hold’em Excellence – From Beginner to Winner” is the first book in a set by Lou Krieger. It focuses on play for beginners and has been written in a clear and understandable manner.

This book discusses the hands that should be played and when as well as bluffing, check-raising and ways to gather statistics about your play to help in future games. Krieger includes other skills that should be learned to improve one’s poker game such as how poker skills can positively improve other aspects of your life.
