Antonio Esfandiari- over 1.4 million dollars won at poker

native of Tehran moved to the Bay area with his family at
the age of nine. When he moved to America, he didn’t
speak English. After graduating high school, he went to
college for a year. During his college career, Esfandiari
discovered his joy and talent for magic. He soon began
working as a magician, but a year into this job he
learned how to play Texas Hold’em. At his first
no-limit tournament, he won $2,000 at a time he only had
$1,000 to his name. Esfandiari turned the $2,000 of
winnings into $20,000 over a span of three months, just
by playing poker. He has been very successful in the WPT.
He placed fifth at “WPT Bad Boys,” sixth at
“WPT Invitational,” first at “L.A. Poker
Classic” and third at WPT’s “Gold
Rush.” His combined winnings for these tournaments
is $1,451,135. . |
